Denise Zareski is a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University (Bachelor of Arts -Honours). She received her LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 2005, and was the recipient of the Muriel Duckworth Award. She was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2006.

In her spare time she likes to volunteer in the community. Denise has been a long-time volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. She is a board member for the Halifax Sexual Health Clinic, and the financial agent for the New Democratic Party Federal Riding Association, Sackville-Eastern Shore.
